Il nostro Bed and Breakfast

Ghirigoro

Take my glance and carry it far away,
where nobody knows us and I can so
tell you, my unknown
and kind tourist, the anecdotes and history
of an ancient land
mother of oleanders and junipers,
perfumed by thin branches of myrtle,
caressed by the fresh and light
Mistral like the silk that gives its meaning
to a beautiful inlet
becoming Cala di Seta (Cove of Silk) or, Calasetta

Places to visit:
Since antiquity, thanks to its geographical position, the island of Sant'Antioco has offered an easy landing place, therefore it was colonised by the Phoenicians, the Punics and the Romans.
In the 8th Century BC the Phoenicians founded the City of Sulcis as a centre of commerce: traces of this ancient city remain in the Necropolis, the Tophet, in the Aquarium and in various other discoveries that are found in the Museum, such as urns, mosaics and the various inscriptions that originate from a local Jewish cemetery. Another interesting site is the parish church of Sant’Antioco built by the Vittorini monks in 1102 over the site of an existing Paleochristian church where you can still visit catacombs that are unique in Sardinia.

Other places to visit:
- The Necropolis of Montessu at Villaperuccio
- The Caves of Is Zuddas at Santadi
- The Sulcis Archipelago
- The modern art museum of Calasetta
- Tourist mining itinerary
- Mount Sirai in Carbonia
